With the introduction of the C-Lux, Leica is not only bringing to market an elegant-looking camera but one that has some promising features as well.
The new model borrows a lot from the Panasonic Lumix ZS200, including a 15x zoom and a 1-inch 20.1MP sensor. It also comes with a 49-point autofocus and is capable of continuous shooting at 10 frames per second and shooting 4K video up to 100 Mbps.
Leica C-Lux Imaging features
The combination of a Leica DC Vario-Elmar 8.8-132mm F3.3-6.4 ASPH lens and a 20MP sensor allows the C-Lux to create high-quality images of subjects from any distance. With a 1-inch sensor, the camera can produce impressive images, be it in RAW or JPEG format.
The camera’s 49 metering points ensures that a subject is always in sharp focus. Also, fleeting moments are sure to be captured thanks to the C-Lux’s continuous shooting capability of 10 frames per second.
The camera’s 2.33MP viewfinder assures clarity at all times and the 100% coverage ensures precise framing of subjects. Dioptre compensation settings are also available to allow those wearing glasses to use the viewfinder without any problems.
Leica C-Lux Video capability
The Leica C-Lux supports the shooting of high-definition, 4K resolution video. It can capture up to 30p and 100Mbps in the MP4 format, technical features that are sufficient enough for creating short films. Still images up to 8 megapixels can also be extracted from the saved footage.
Sharing with ease
Stills and videos can be shared easily with just a few taps of the touchscreen. You can choose between WiFi or Bluetooth for sharing of media.
Leica C-Lux has elegant design
Leica has produced a sophisticated-looking camera in the C-Lux. It will be available in two colors: Light Gold and Midnight Blue.
The Leica C-Lux will be available by mid-July and will sell for $1,050. Accessories such as jackets, pouches, and straps will follow after the camera’s release.
